Explanation about cookies
This explanation about cookies was drawn up in collaboration with industry parties and discussed with the regulator. This explanation applies to all services of Lynqer and its affiliates (hereinafter referred to collectively as "Lynqer"). Why cookies?
Websites use useful and useful techniques that increase ease of use and that make the site as interesting as possible for every user. The best known examples of this type of technique are cookies and scripts (all techniques hereinafter referred to as 'cookies'). For example, cookies ensure that you can stay logged in on websites or that your preferences are remembered. Lynqer can also see, through cookies, how often its sites - and which pages - are viewed by users. Furthermore, some cookies make it possible to follow your surfing behavior.

In addition to Lynqer, cookies can also be placed by third parties, for example advertisers, who communicate via the domains. That way Lynqer and advertisers can find out something about your preferences so that services can be adapted to your preferences. Advertisers can show more relevant ads because cookies are so much adapted to your own interests.

More information about cookies

Functional cookies
Cookies with the sole purpose of allowing the website to function.

Functional cookies ensure:

Analytical cookies
In order to determine which parts of the website are most interesting to our visitors, Lynqer continuously tries to measure the behavior of users, sometimes with the help of third-party software.

Statistics are generated from the information that Lynqer collects. These statistics give Lynqer insight into how often our website is visited, where visitors spend the most time and so on. This enables us to make the structure, navigation and content of the website as user-friendly as possible.

Analytical cookies ensure:

Advertisement cookies
Our websites show your ads. These advertisements are a necessary source of income for us, with which we finance our websites. Some advertisements (or video messages) use cookies. These ads are placed by Lynqer and by third parties, such as advertisers.

Advertising cookies ensure:

See below for the list of cookies that media agencies, ad networks and / or we use in combination with advertisements, what data they collect and how long they are used. Ad networks and media agencies are companies that act as intermediaries between website owners and advertisers.

For the cookies that our third parties place for advertising purposes, we refer to the statements that these parties provide on their own websites. Note that these statements can change regularly. Lynqer has no influence on this and is not responsible for the actions of these parties.

Behavioral cookies
These cookies are used to map the behavior of users. By means of these cookies, Lynqer can build profiles and target groups with which Lynqer can ensure that the content of the websites and apps, such as videos and advertisements, is relevant for each user. Third parties can also post behavioral cookies via our websites. The information about your current website visit can in that case be combined with information from previous and later visits to websites other than ours.

Behavior cookies ensure:

Social media cookies
The articles and videos you read or view on our websites and apps can be shared or clicked on social media by means of buttons. The functioning of these buttons uses social media cookies from various social media parties. In addition, social media networks place pixels on the pages of our websites and apps with which they follow you during your web sessions. The social media parties use these cookies to recognize you and to build profiles by combining the behavior on the Lynqer domains with previous information they have received from you, for example by using your social media account.

For the cookies that the social media parties place and the possible data they collect, we refer to the statements that these parties provide on their own websites. Note that these statements can change regularly. Lynqer has no influence on this and is not responsible for the actions of these parties.

Final remarks

Unforeseen cookies
Because of the way the Internet and websites work, it may be that Lynqer does not always have insight into the cookies that are placed by third parties via the domains.

If you encounter cookies in our domains that fall into one of the above categories and are not mentioned in this explanation, please let us know. Or contact the third party directly and ask which cookies they put, what the reason is, what the lifespan of the cookie is and how they have guaranteed your privacy.

Double cookies
Sometimes the functions of cookies overlap because their goals overlap. This is the case, for example, with analytical cookies and advertising cookies when the click behavior of an advertisement is tracked. Another example is the overlap between advertising cookies and behavioral cookies when a suitable advertisement is shown based on someone's behavior. If cookies are mentioned in several categories, this means that these cookies have multiple functions and fall into more than one category.

Browser settings
If you do not want websites to place cookies on your computer, you can adjust your browser settings so that you get a warning before cookies are placed. You can also adjust the settings so that your browser refuses all cookies or only cookies from third parties. You can also delete cookies that have already been placed. Note that you must adjust the settings separately for each browser and computer you use.

Be aware that if you do not want cookies, we can no longer guarantee that our websites are working properly. It is possible that some functions of the sites are lost or even that you can not see certain websites at all, because of the functionalities that cookies provide.

How you can adjust your settings differs per browser. If necessary, consult the help function of your browser.

Ads
Accepting or refusing cookies does not affect whether your ads will be shown. Cookies only ensure that advertisements are not repeated each time and that the advertisements are adapted to the preferences of the user. The refusal of cookies does not mean that you will no longer see ads. The ads are then no longer tailored to your interests and are repeated more often.

Processing personal data
If the information processed with the aid of cookies contains personal data, this personal data will be processed in accordance with Lynqer's privacy statement.

Contact
For more information about the use of cookies and the processing of these personal data, contact hello@lynqer.com.
